About Us:

MLES is a veteran owned horse sanctuary/rescue dedicated to the protection and rehabilitation of the Wild Mustang horses who are currently being squeezed out of their habitat. Other issues threatening their lives are the excessive drought conditions, shortages of water and forage, and herding them into pens thus breaking their spirit. In October 2021 the Maple Leaf Equine Sanctuary became a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are a group of passionate staff and volunteers whose love of horses want to give these magnificent creatures a new lease on life and a renewed Spirit. We are of the mind set that in this line of work, one person, one rescue can not do it alone it takes a village. We owe it to these horses to unite for a better tomorrow.
